Homecrest Community Services, Inc. has strived to serve the community and care for the seniors ever since its establishment; Homecrest is a big family to many Chinese seniors.

Some senior members have joined Homecrest since we first opened our doors 12?years ago; these members not only stayed with us through some difficult times, but they also encouraged their family members to join this big family. It is not uncommon now for family members from two generations to be Homecrest members at the same time-this is the gift of trust that these members have given us. Here are some of their testimonies:

Mrs. Ly Mhoc Vong and her daughter Mrs. Yu Juan Qin-Huang, both are members:

Mrs. Ly Mhoc Vong is an eighty-three-year-old, Chinese woman who came to the U.S. from Vietnam 20 years ago; she has been a member of Homecrest for 10 years. Mrs. Vong comes to the center five days a week, arriving from the moment we open our doors in the morning and staying until we close. Homecrest has become an integral part of her life.

After she became integrated into our community, she recommended our services to her daughter, Mrs. Yu Juan Qin-Huang. One year ago, her daughter, who is 62 now, finally joined our family. She thinks that Homecrest provides excellent services, and she enjoys coming back for activities everyday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wong and their aunt Mrs. Li:

Mr. Ka Ling Wong and Mrs. Ru Sheng Wong immigrated to the US 21 years ago: the couple was from Taishan, China. Both joined Homecrest after they retired. Mr. Wang’s aunt, Mrs. Ru Zhun Li, also joined Homecrest with the couples three years ago.

All three members agree that Homecrest provides wholesome services, and all staff members are? friendly. Most importantly, Homecrest provides a place where all three of them could be entertained in areas that they are interested in. For example, Mrs. Li likes to play Mah-Jongg, and Mrs. Wong can learn English. Moreover, Mrs. Wong stated that if there were letters that she could not understand, our staff is always willing to translate for her.

Mr. Yang, his mother, and mother in law:

Mr. Chen Ban Yang came to the US, in 1972; he is now 62 years old. He joined Homecrest together with his mother, Mrs. Chin Zen Yang, and mother-in-law, Mrs. Chin Hwai Ku-Kuo, a while ago. All of them liked the services and staff members of Homecrest.

Mr. Yang is grateful for the services Homecrest offers. He met a lot of friends in Homecrest; and staff members care about the seniors on a personal level. Five years ago, he suffered from a stroke; but the staff is nice and helpful, and supported him through the difficult times.
